Case of the Mondays?

Yes please.

I'll take this case of the Mondays forever and ever.

Today was the beginning of what I like to call my new and improved life.

No lie. My life has flipped a literal 180 degrees.

Last week at this time, I was running from event to event, fighting with my arch nemesis insomnia, spending zero time with Mr. Ruby, and developing an average of two-three fine lines and wrinkles a day.

Today?
  • Woke up at 7:00 a.m....SEVEN O'FRICKIN CLOCK!
  • Actually had time to watch 20 minutes of Saved by the Bell while eating Special K Protein Cereal.
  • Drove to my new nanny job. (I'm babysitting part-time for a kindergartner. Love her!)
  • Drove home.
  • Ate lunch outside in the 60 degree weather with my pups.
  • Called several schools to see if I could complete my observation hours for teaching.
  • SCORE! I am meeting with a school on Friday - their administrator approved my pre-clinical field experience requirements.
  • Spoke with the Y - I will be starting my after-school care coordinator position tomorrow!
  • Went shopping: Picked up a bridal shower gift, saved lots of money at Old Navy, and spent WAY too much money on tea. **Side note: I know nothing about tea, and so the sales people duped me into spending $68.00 on tea gadgets. I am such a sucker.
  • Came home and took the pups for a walk.
  • Cooked dinner.
  • Started a paper.
  • Getting ready to go spend TIME with Mr. Ruby. Yep...I actually have time!!!
Just in case you missed it a couple of months back - I decided to go back to school to pursue my masters in teaching. Sadly, I could not keep up with the pace of my corporate life of travel and go into the classroom for field experience work.

So.

I made the difficult decision to quit my wonderful, well-paying, fun and some-what glamorous job to focus on my passion: TEACHING!

Now?

I'm a part-time nanny and making minimum wage at the local YMCA.

Poor? Yes.

Do I care? No.

Loving my life? Yes.

I can feel the fine lines and wrinkles fading as we speak...

Congrats! I hope your days continue to be everything you hoped they'd be. Happiness is far more important than making tons of cash.

When I was finishing grad school I too worked at the Y as the after school care coordinator! And I really just wanted to wish you good luck with all the changes you're making. It's sounds like you're definitely turning your life into more of what you want it to be
