Yowzaz. 3 weeks behind.

So THIS is what it's like to have summer break as an adult.

Holy. Moly. I don't know why I didn't become a teacher sooner.

I haven't felt this content/rested/relaxed/happy in YEARS.

And it's only been 1 week.

Don't get me wrong. I've spent maybe a total of 3 hours in the last week actually relaxing. (I had a mini panic attack on day 2 of summer break because I wasn't quite sure what to do with actually having TIME.) Sitting still just isn't in my blood. I have to be moving and/or being productive at all times. So. I've already accomplished quite a few things on the to-do list.

Lovin it.

Now for a quick bumpdate.

How Far Along: 27 weeks today. But I'm backing it up to Week 26.

Maternity Clothes: Still a good mix of both maternity and non. Although my regular shirts are a bit too short. Just ordered a few more maternity things from OldNavy.com. They seem to have the cheapest stuff that's still pretty cute!

Gender: Baby Girl Lyla. Loving this little gal. So.much.

Movement: Oh my goodness. Moves like crazy. There have been points where the blanket on top of me looks like it's jumping. So fun! And, I actually felt her hiccups for the first time this week after eating spicy salsa. Gabe was upset and said, "Aww. That's really mean." Hehe. I thought it was cute.

Sleep: Oh my goodness. I've NEVER gotten such good sleep in my life.

Oh. Except the other night, I woke up and felt something was a bit "off". I didn't have my body pillow! Hubs had stolen it, and I tried to pry it back, but he wouldn't budge. Had to wake him up and politely ask for it back. He doesn't remember a thing...or so he says. ;)

What I miss: Being able to roll over in my sleep without feeling like a walrus. And being able to eat spicy food without feeling like I swallowed a fiery sword.

Cravings: Beans. I've always loved beans, and I love em' even more now.

Other crazy symptoms: Still with the intestinal issues. TMI? Yes probably. But, I'm pregnant. Nothing is TMI anymore.

Size of Babe: Cucumber. And she's able to open and close her eyes now. And she recognizes our voices at this point. I LOVE talking to her.

Best Moment this week:

1). Last week of school. I seriously felt like a kid again.

*No. I do not normally dress like a cowgirl. It was country-western day to celebrate how AWESOME our students did on state assessments!!! In fourth grade, we reached 100% proficient in math and reading and standard of excellence in math, reading, and science. SO PROUD

2). Our good friends had their baby boy, Henry Anderson, this week. I'm amazed by him. He is perfect!

3). I have spent an exceptional amount of quality time with the hubs. MUCH NEEDED.

Bump Pic:
*Went with some teacher friends to a baseball game to watch some of our girls perform at before a baseball game. So cute!

Bumpdate: Week 24

How Far Along: Bumpdate = Week 24. Real Life Time = Week 25.

Maternity Clothes: Yes. I'm wearing a good mix of maternity and non. Although my non-maternity is stretched to the brim in the belly area!

Gender: Baby Girl. And have I mentioned? We have a name:

Lyla
Other contenders:
*Gwenyth
*Juliette
*Maya
*Scarlett
*Violet

We like color names. Unfortunately, our last name is Green. Boo. But we are head over HEELS for the name Lyla. So precious. Not sure on middle name yet...

Movement: This little gal is a mover. I'm feeling her everyday. And I love it so much. It always catches me off-guard. And I pay attention to nothing else going on around me.

She had a major kick while I was teaching once, and I stopped in the middle of my sentence and blurted out, "Oh my! What a kick!" Haha.

Sleep: I have to say the sleeping thing is the one thing I've enjoyed during this pregnancy. I absolutely LOVE it. Bedtime is 9:30 every night.

What I miss: Being able to lift things. And move around a lot. I have a feeling this summer is going to kick my booty because I am going to want to accomplish SO much...and simply can't.

Speaking of summer...While my kiddos were working on a math project, I decided to make a summer to-do list. This should get me through the first couple of weeks. ;)

Cravings: Still nothing too exciting or crazy. And, I am feeling the need to do a whole post on nutrition, eating, and weight. But, not sure if I want to. Let's just say my doctor is a BIG stickler on weight gain and really upset me this week.

Other crazy symptoms: Major intestinal issues. And I'll leave it at that.

Size of Babe: Eggplant

Best Moment this week:

1). My hubs surprised me with flowers during the week. It was an early Mother's Day/Happy Teacher Appreciation Week gift. He's so cute because he planned to send flowers and bring me lunch to school...then he realized all of my parents were already taking care of all that for T.A. Week.

2). Teacher Appreciation Week AND my first shower thrown by co-workers. I was one spoiled cookie last week! (And I'm going to provide a whole post on this...)

3). Got to see my very best friend before she and her hubby move to Uganda. The one who had the amazing wedding.

Double Bump

Nope. Not what you think! ;)

Just doubling up on my posts since I keep getting behind.

As of yesterday, I'm 24 weeks. But I feel like Week 24 needs a post of its own.

So, double bump time...catching up on weeks 22 and 23.

How Far Along: Weeks 22 & 23.

Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah. I'm officially in maternity clothes. Well, pants at least. Busted out some super old dresses from college last week, and I keep getting compliments. That's the one redeeming thing about being much preggo in the summertime: dresses!!!

Gender: Darling little girl.

Movement: I LOVE that I'm feeling movement multiple times a day. Sometimes, I feel paranoid that people can see her kicking because she feels like she's going to tap dance right through my belly.
Sweet moment: Gabe REALLY felt her just over a week ago. He just started cracking up and kept asking her what in the world she was doing in there. Presh.

Sleep: I swear I sleep better now that I'm pregnant. I sleep SO soundly. Although, I do have pretty intense dreams that wake me up. And I pee at the same time every.single.night.

What I miss: Being able to stay up late. I honestly don't think I can make it past 11:00 p.m. if I tried.

Cravings: FRUIT! Still loving me some fruit.

Other crazy symptoms: Sigh. My feet started swelling. They've done it twice now: once when I was super dehydrated from traveling and a sinus infection and the other time was after a really long, hot day at school. I'm on my feet ALL.DAY.LONG with no break. So, I'm assuming swollen feet is a normal???

Size of Babe: Ear of Corn. A little over a pound. And I found out today my uterus is the size of a soccer ball. CRAZY!

Best Moment this week:

1). My SWEET husband made a homemade gift certificate for a pair of TOMs. I "redeemed" my gift card...and ended up with TWO pairs:

Ok. So she won't be able to fit into them until she's like 2 years old. But I couldn't resist!!! ;)

About time...GENDER REVEAL

So...I'm a few weeks behind in current personal events.

And almost a few weeks behind in bump posts.

Just trying to wrap things up at school because I have TEN school days left before summer.

Can't come soon enough.

And yes. I am beyond excited and desperately need a summer break. But I also have a to-do list about 76 miles long. And just about every single weekend is already booked with something!

But I want to take a stroll back a few weeks ago when our sweet friends threw us a Gender Reveal. We had family and close friends there for the big reveal. It was one of the most exciting moments.

We clearly thought it was a boy. We showed up completely confident, decked out in all blue.

I'm carrying low.
Heartbeat was a 140.
My doc had a "feeling" it was a boy.
And of course my pee test said boy (baking soda fizzed when I tinkled on it).

So, the moment we opened that pretty silver box to find PINK balloons, my mindset changed instantly. And I got emotional. A sweet baby girl.

I immediately saw visions of bows, polka dots, lace, and lots of frillies!

We are absolutely thrilled.

And I love our little princess SO much already.

Thanks to Ali and Lora for hosting and AMAZING party!!! ;)

Not sure much could top this one.

I have been blessed with an abundance of ah-ma-zing friends.

From every phase of life.

I love them all.

But I am especially blessed to have a pseudo-sis. We've been besties since kindergarten.

And I was HONORED to be in her wedding a few weeks ago.

***If you decide to stop reading at any point, you MUST at least visit my bestie's photographer's blog featuring her wedding. Oh.my.gosh.

Unfortunately, I was incredibly sick with a sinus infection. And I was pretty darn bummed about it. But it truly didn't take away from the breathtaking event.

There is absolutely no way for me to put into words the fabulousness of this shin-dig. Wouldn't even know where to begin. But I will highlight a few things from the unforgettable weekend:

*Events took place from the moment my plane touched down: Boots N' BBQ on Broadway to welcome out of town guests, a swanky bridesmaid luncheon, manis and pedis with the girls, rehearsal dinner, wedding.

*Took place on a plantation in Nashville, TN. I'm sure pics of her wedding will be in Southern Bride magazine. Everything was absolutely picture perfect.

*Bestie and her (now) hubby wrote their own vows. They've done long distance their entire relationship, are moving to Uganda, and their marriage is completely and totally dedicated to the Lord. Beautiful!

*They had food station "favorites". He started a Mexican restaurant in Africa, so they had a Mexi station with mini margaritas. She LOVES pizza, so they had mini pizzas paired with beer flights. And since the wedding was in Nashville, they had gourmet southern food: bbq and mac n' cheese.

*Gabe was pretty obsessed with the Whisky-Tasting station.

*The bridal party entered the reception with a choreographed African dance routine. Then, the groomsmen surprised the bride and groom with their own choreographed routine. I'm not kidding when I say it was INCREDIBLE and one of the most hilarious/entertaining things you've ever seen in your life.

*One of the most gorgeous brides I've ever seen in my life. And probably the happiest too!

And because I didn't get ANY snapshots of the unbelievable details, you HAVE to check out her photog's blog. Or just check out any bridal magazine in the upcoming months. I'm sure it will be featured. ;)
