CHEERS! Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

IMG_7753

Top O' the mornin'...or, evening rather. I hope you all are having a fantastic St. Patty's Day! I'm sitting at home like any other Tuesday night. However, we definitely had our fun Irish celebrations on Sunday. Man. Those Irish sure know how to jig. We headed to Boston for the parade and of course the beer!

We had to finish off the day with an authentic Irish Car Bomb. :)

Thus, I end my story with MY version of a real Irish jig. All Leprechauns are totally green with envy right now. Seriously.

Edited to add: So, did anyone else grow up with the tradition that if you didn't wear green on St. Patrick's Day, you would get pinched? Everyone at work today thought I was nuts and said I was making it up. Help me out people! Is that just a Kansas thing?

I grew up all over the midwest (Wyoming,Montana,Missouri,Kansas, etc.) and everywhere was the same thing.
No green meant a horrific pinch.

Um...I know in Missouri and Cincinnati (when I lived there for like 2 years) the no green pinch was common knowledge. Just pinch the hell out of them. They'll learn to wear green next year. :) Glad you had a great time. XOXO

In Arkansas, South Carolina, and Texas you most certainly get pinched if you don't wear Green!!

That is NOT just a Kansas thing...I am a pincher of non-green wearers too! :)

Love your jig ;)

Pinch them twice. Once for not wearing and once for not hearing of this. What, did they grow up in a bubble??

My husband and I are both from different parts of the US and we both knew the "pinched" tradition.

no way! rhode islanders didn't know about the pinched thing? thats unbelievable. although i am technically a "mass-hole" i lived in RI for quite some time, and in both places, people i knew wore green so they didn't get pinched!!! maybe its because i'm irish.. heck maybe i even warned people to wear green!!! lol. glad to see you had a good day!

I pinched my hubs on the way to work on Tuesday because he wasn't wearing green. Maybe its just a southern thing.

I have never ever heard of being pinched on st pat's day if you don't wear green. That is the strangest thing, they don't do it in the UK either?
