We like to demo.

Hi. Just call us Young House Love.

Ok. Not even close.

But, considering the fact that we'd never
even picked up a hammer or paintbrush before this year,
I'd say Mr. Ruby and I are doing ok in the home remodel department.

To be honest, we actually looked for a house that needed
a little bit of TLC and some cosmetic work.
You know, so we could make a house our home
and all that jazz.

Well, let me just say, we got more than we bargained for.
I mean, don't get me wrong, it could have been much worse.
However, our sweet little "home" had a bit more
in mind than a few paint touch-ups.

Instead, due to some unforeseen circumstances,
we had a construction zone in our
living room, 2 bathrooms, and basement...
all at the same time.

Baptism by fire, my friends.

But, my husband is amazing. And my handy-dandy cousin
is amazing. So after lots and lots of work (and maybe a couple
swearwords), we got a new bathroom.
In addition to this one.
Two new bathrooms in 4 weeks.
Most exhausting thing I've ever partaken in.

I don't suggest it.

Go on, check out the fruits of our labor.

Painful.
This is what happens when you buy a house built in 1959.

Demo.
Good thing my hubby is not scared to get a lil' dirty.

The big mistake.
Yep. Was going for a rich purple. Ended up with easter egg lavender.

The end.
Still have some finishing touches to do, but I'd say it's quite the improvement from our Caribbean-infested bathroom.

I have a special place in my heart for old skool tile. It's classic. But your flooring didn't jive... like it got half-redone at some point along the way. So I understand the re-do!

Congrats on the amazing transformation! Our first house was built in the 50s and I feel your pain on the colors and tile. Your dh worked hard. Very impressive!
