The BIG Opening Day

We celebrated one of my most FAVORITE days of the year this past weekend:

The first day of the season where the weather is just right for dining al fresco.

Seriously my most fave day of the entire year. Even over Christmas.

If you know me at all, you are very well aware that I live for eating outdoors on cute little patios. Glass of Pinot Grigio in hand (because that is the perfect summer wine), warm 70 degree sunshine, a slight breeze, and deep talks. Right there. While dining al fresco.

So, Mr. Ruby and I took full advantage after work last Friday. No questions asked. The weather was a gorg 72 degrees, so we picked out a restaurant and took the last seat outside.

Perfection.

**Although I paint a lovely picture, no one seemed to remind me before we moved back how windy it is here in Kansas. This is a topic of conversation in our household at least twice a day. Both Mr. Ruby and I were born and raised here, but we do NOT remember it being so darn windy. Sigh. Dining al fresco was a wee bit more perfect in our dear Little Rhody because I never had to worry about my lobster ravioli blowing two blocks away...but that's neither here now there. C'sest la vie, right?

I hear ya! There are so many places to dine outside here in Chicago, and it's always my favorite thing to do when the weather turns!
