I made it home.
Finally.
Traveling has really, really not been fun lately.
At all.
Monday was a 16 hour day of travel (scheduled only to be 6 hours), and Thursday was literally a travel day from hell.
I was scheduled to come home Thursday night from Indianapolis. However, I didn't get home until Friday at 1:00 p.m.
Thursday, i was raring to get home to Mr. Ruby because I hadn't seen him in four days, and I knew he had to work this weekend. Plus, I had some major business to tend to at work on Friday.
So, we're all boarded on a a flight to Charlotte, (I was already nervous because I only had a 30 minute layover) and I've noticed we've been sitting there for quite a while. Finally, the plane starts to take off and then suddenly stops.
The pilot gets on the loud speaker and notifies us that we aren't going anywhere because the steering wheel was broken.
The steering wheel was stuck? Really?
So. We sit on the plane for another hour and a half until someone could tow us off the runway.
Then, we get back inside the airport to wait in line to reroute each and every one of our flights. People started rioting.
Ok, maybe it didn't classify as an actual riot, but every was shoving, screaming, and yelling profanities at the airline crew. I mean, people were being so incredibly rude. I was embarrassed.
It was just one, giant cluster of angry, rude people.
Once they got everyone calmed down, we stood in 1 line for an hour and a half, and then had to go stand in another line for a hotel voucher.
Long story short, I got settled into bed at 2 am and had to be back at the airport by 5:30 am.
Ugh.
Made it safely. Went straight home, showered, and went into work.
On the secret front - I'm getting antsy to share, but you'll just have to hang tight until the big reveal on Monday. ;)

No more distance
I am officially in love.
Seriously. Love at first sight.
Tried my first Skype session this evening.
Fell. in. love.
One of the downs of traveling is that I am away from my little family on a weekly basis. It is so hard not to see my Mr. Ruby and the pups.
Skype allows me to see them so I'm not so homesick.
Man. I wish they had this thing when Mr. Ruby and I went through four TREACHEROUS years of long distance.
I mean seriously. It could have made things quite a bit easier on us.
We had a good little session tonight, and even the pups got on to say hello! :)
(Haha, look in the left hand corner for my reaction to my pups saying hello)

And travel season has officially begun
My back hurts.
I'm hungry.
I'm tired.
I'm greasy.
I'm cranky.
Yep.
Travel season is in full force as of 5:00 a.m. this morning.
After several canceled flights, one three-hour delay, and a terrible case of turbulence, I am still sitting in an overcrowded airport.
Just sitting and waiting on my colleague to arrive.
With another hour to drive once she gets here.

If You're Happy and You Know It
So...
I have some good, no GREAT news. And I have some bad news.
I'm startin with the bad. (Always end on a positive note).
The bad news?
I got to the gym all pumped to work out. And my darn iPod was dead. Completely dead. I absolutely cannot workout without music.
However, I forced myself to. And life went on.
The good news?
Drumroll please....
I've lost SIX pounds since the first of the year.
Gotta lose those winter flabbies for our CRUISE in three weeks!!!!!
WAHOO!!!!

Whoa, Whoa!
Ok.
So apparently I caused a little stir by mentioning that I have a lil' secret to reveal in the coming weeks.
I'm going to go ahead and say right now, I'm NOT preggers. Promise. Well...not that I know of.
There is something I've been dying to talk about, but can't...for reasons you will soon understand.
Patience, my friends. Details will be coming soon. :)
So. That's out of the way.
Now, I really want to talk about the breathtaking stunning-ness from last night's Golden Globes. I mean, there were so many beautiful gowns.
Oh, and I couldn't be happier that Glee won Best TV Comedy. They deserved it so much!!!
Both Dianna Agron and Lea Michele were BEAUTIFUL!!!
Haven't seen much of Courtney Cox in the past decade, but she looked stunning last night.
And I'm so happy for Christina Aguilera - she looked so feminine and delicate!
Did anyone see Penelope Cruz??? WOWZAHZ!!!
And, of course my Reese Witherspoon looked like a classic beauty...as always.

Cough Cough
Sick.
I've been officially diagnosed with an upper respiratory and sinus infection.
And, I wouldn't dream of calling in for a sick day. We've been SO ridiculously busy.
Oh, and want to know the worst part of my day?
Two things actually.
1). Five, yes five, people told me within my first 20 minutes of being at work that I looked terrible.
2). I conducted an interview with a girl late in the afternoon. And I felt it coming. Too late. Snot was uncontrollably running down my nose like it was running for its dear life.
Mortified.
Oh well.
I'm hoping my drugs will kick in soon.
Thanks for all the get-well wishes from my dear bloggy friends. :)

Weekend Full of Spice
Monday is almost over...which means we're that much closer to FRIDAY!
Love me some Friday.
We had a great weekend by starting it off with a proper birthday celebration for a good friend with MEXICAN food! My all-time fave.
The best part of the night? Four of us decided to create our own "contest" with the restaurant's special "Can You Take the Heat" menu. We asked the waitress to bring out the hottest item on the menu. It was a little burrito that was rated "steam-coming-out-of-your-ears hot & spicy".
Perfect.
She brought out the mini burrito, and we decided whoever drank water or ate any other food, including rice or chips...was the LOSER. We cut the little thin into quarters, and chowed down.
The boys immediately started complaining, sweating, and tearing up. I, however, stood strong.
Then it hit.
I mean, we are talking fire. Like, the roof of my mouth began to develop immediate canker sores. No lie. My lips? Felt like someone lit a match and spread it all over my lips.
The more I breathed, the hotter it got.
But I refused to give in.
Finally. One man down. He threw his hands in the air and said, "I give up" and chugged some water.
There I was. Needing a fire extinguisher or an ambulance, refusing to give up.
So, Mr. Ruby, Birthday Boy, and I all called a truce. We were starving and ready to eat. So, it was a three-way tie.
My mouth is still scorched.
******************************************************************************
Saturday was a nice, relaxing one with Mr. Ruby. We decided to go see Avatar.
Amazing.
I mean, really. So breathtaking. Words can't even describe.
I HATE anything and everything dealing with aliens, science fiction, or space.
But now, I want to be a member of the Na'vi tribe. I'd even settle to be in a James Cameron film.
A MUST SEE!!!!
We finished off the night by getting comfy and watching the Cowboys game.
I was in the kitchen studying for awhile, when I looked over at Mr. Ruby.
This is what I saw:
Guess someone likes my Snuggie after all ??? :)

Let's Hear it for New York
I heart NYC.
What is there not to love?
Especially at Christmastime.
My mom and stepdad visited us for the holidays, and we decided to take them to New York for a couple of days. We had a blast!!!
I only turned into grumpy-pants once! And it was for good reason...I forgot my toiletry bag at home. None of MY shampoo and conditioner. No makeup. No toothbrush.
And yes. I borrowed Mr. Ruby's. (Toothbrush...not makeup).
So disgusting...even if he is my hubs.
So, let's hear it for New York, New York, New Yo-o-ork.
