Jai Ho!

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first.

I wondered how in the world one movie could win so many awards and really be that amazing. I finally caved and watched the most talked about movie - Slumdog Millionaire. Let's just say it lived up to its expectations. It was seriously SO good. Words can't even describe it. And I am obsessed with the little kids in the movie.

I recommend it to everyone.

Oh, and I most definitely have a girl crush on Freida Pinto. I mean, she might seriously be the most gorgeous woman on the plant. No lie.

Back in 2006, when I went through training for my job, I roomed with a girl from Mumbai India. Ever since then, I have been truly intrigued by the Indian culture. I learned SO much from her, and she inspired me to want to work harder at everything I do. I mean, this girl's work ethic was unbelievable. Oh, and she had the most beautiful pictures from back home. She had recently gotten married and had a true Indian wedding. I am DYING to attend an Indian wedding. They seem so fun, and I love the culture and COLORS of the clothing the women wear. My good bloggy friend Aliya over at The View from My Shoes had a Mehndi Ceremony. Go over and check out her wedding photos. I guarantee they will blow you away.

Another highlight is the ever-growing popularity of Bollywood! My roommate from training had me watch a Bollywood movie, and I LOVED it (even though she had to interpret). The women and dancing were so magnificent!

I believe this scene was about two sisters fighting over the same man.

Now, I just have to get into Indian food! Any suggestions for a beginner? (The smell of curry makes me gag a little.) I've heard such great things about it though...

Oh my goodness I LOVE this movie too! I too was blown away! My suggestions for food is Chicken Tikka Masala... it's not spicy (well, depending on where you go) and absolutely amazing!

Wearing Mascara is right, Chicken Tikka Masala is delish.

You should try some Indian appetizers too, they are amazing! Vegetable Samosa is one to try.

Chicken Shahi Korma is to die for too. Try it!

Oh my gosh she is drop dead gorgeous!!

And no advice about the Indian food. I am too chicken to eat ethnic food. Mexican and Italian are about the extremes for me!

I want to see that movie SO badly! Luckily for me I'll actually be watching it in one of my classes! As for Indian culture, I'm a huge fan of it too. I actually have a huge Indian tapestry that the fiance hates! Haha. Indian food is one of my absolute favorite types of food. If you want something really generic go for naan, its a bread they have that isn't much different from regular bread- just with some seasonings- and I agree- Samosas are to die for! Their lentil dishes are pretty good too. Good luck!

Hmmm...I don't know. I hate to buy into the hype but everyone is saying it's good. I might have to actually go out and get it!

I absolutely ADORE Slumdog Millionaire. I saw it in the theater three times :) It's just one of those feel good movies. The dance number in the end is just too beautiful for words...and I agree with you on the girl crush on Freida Pinto :)

I loved the movie, too!

Indian food is sooo good. If you can, find an Indian restaurant that has a buffet, and then you can sample a little bit of everything.

I didn't think I would like the movie as much as I do. But I'm still surprised it won so many awards, mainly because it isn't a typical Oscar movie.

I'm not sure where to tell you to start. But I do love Indian food!

Oh..thanks for the movie review. I really wanted to see it but then my mom said she loved it and while she's almost my bet friend...we have very different tastes in movies so her recommendation made me very skeptical about it! HA..I'll watch it now! :-)

Oh I know she is beautiful and I loved that movie! They had a dance routine on "So You Think You Can Dance?" a year or so ago that was bollywood...and it was amazing! I hope they have the Indian coreagraphers back again this year b/c it was so neat!

She is really cute, huh! During the movie I thought it was so depressing, but the ending really brought the whole story together...it was really great!
