Memoir Monday

Happy Monday!!!

After multiple fun-event-packed weekends in a row, this relaxing weekend was MUCH needed!

Surprisingly, I was in an extremely grumpy mood Friday night - thanks to some of the ill-behaved kiddos. But I perked RIGHT up when I found out we were grabbing some authentic Mexican grub...I mean, that's all it really takes. :) Then last-minute we decided to go to a movie, which turned out to be one of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen. More on that tomorrow...

Saturday turned out to be JUST what I needed. I night of Nerf guns, pizza, Funfetti cupcakes, and Apples to Apples. This game seriously provides belly-busting laughs for hours. I seriously LOVE it!!!

How was YOUR weekend?!?!

Yesssss!!!!

Phew!

I am SO thankful today...

Daylight Savings Time!!!

I made the mistake of waiting until the last minute to check out my trusty calendar to see exactly how much time I have left to complete EVERYTHING for school before December 1st. On top of that, I have to finish up my pre-practicums in my third grade classroom...and I have to create a November and December curriculum for my after school program.

Sheesh.

So, even one extra lil' ol' hour makes a HUGE difference right now.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend, enjoyed Daylight Savings Time as much as I did, and I can't wait to hear some weekend recaps tomorrow for Memoir Monday! ;)

P.S. I found out through the lovely Kelsey that Shutterfly is giving away 50 FREE HOLIDAY CARDS to bloggers! You better believe I'm hopping on that bandwagon. If you'd like to join me, just stop on by and fill in your info here!!! Thanks, Shutterfly!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I am in just a fabulous mood this morning.

1). It's Friday.

2). I only have 4 weeks left of school until I begin student teaching!!!

3). We made a last-minute decision last night that Mr. Ruby will be joining me on my drive back to Kansas for Christmas! Let me explain...

First of all, our life is extremely complicated right now. Many things going on. Nothing bad, just complicated. But basically, I was going to drive all the way home for Christmas...by myself. And Mr. Ruby and I were both so bummed about it.

Yes. 1 day and 6 hours. By myself.

(I'll explain stop B in a minute).

Then last night, we decided "WHO CARES about money/complications/the fact that Mr. Ruby has to fly home exactly 2 weeks before X-Mas for a wedding!"

And now, we're making the drive back together. Just like we made the drive up here three years ago. :)

Pit stop from our looong road trip from Dallas to Providence

And even better news? We're stopping in NASHVILLE to pick up my bestie so we can all ride home together!!! Can't get any better than that!

It's going to be one, CRAZY car ride with my two best friends!!! :)

Goin to the chapel

As mentioned earlier in the week, I am dedicating this post to the FABULOUS wedding we attended this past weekend.

Everything about it was absolutely gorg: the flowers, the reception site, the amazing autumn colors, and of course the beaming bride!!!

The ceremony was held at a beauty of a Catholic church downtown, and the reception was at the stunning Ocean Cliff in Newport, Rhode Island.

Highlights: the overwhelming moment of sheer emotion when the groom started crying as his bride walked down the isle, the calla lilies submerged in water in vases on the fireplace mantle, the best DJ in the entire universe, sporting my new bangs, a PHOTOBOOTH (my absolute fave), and getting down all night with my best friends! :)

Um. Yes. It's a small world after all. Ran into the BEAUTIFUL Jen and Justine!!!

It could be worse

My husband just says the darnedest things.

I think he could have his own reality show. Seriously.

Those that know him know exactly what I'm talking about.

Last night, we were chatting about baby names. (Stop right there. No, there is no bun in this oven).

We went through a plethora of girls' names we liked...and then we got to boys. Nada. Seriously, why is it that boys get jipped in cutsie little baby clothes and names?!?

Then, Mr. Ruby had a suggestion for a name. And this is our our convo went:

Mr. R: Hmm. Well, what about George?

Me: (Laughing) Aww. That's funny.

Mr. R: No really. I like George.

Me: Oh Wait. You're serious?

Mr R: Yeah, I mean, George is just such a handsome name!

Me: Oh dear.

George really is a fine name. I simply just can't fathom walking around with a baby who wears baby clothes and does baby things...named George.

I just don't know where he comes up with this stuff.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Creeepy Crawlers!

I am no Martha Stewart.

In fact, I've tried to be creative, artistic, and crafty my entire life.

But, I simply just wasn't blessed with the gifted gene of craftiness.

Bummer.

However, if I see an idea and like it, I can replicate it.

So...I guess I'm a really good copycat.

Well, I decided to bring something delicious and cute to our Halloween party this past weekend. I made the cutest little (copycat) Spider Cupcakes! However, I DID add my own flava-flave by combining multiple ideas and even adding a couple of my own.

It was SO much fun baking and having Mr. Ruby help me create the Creepy Crawlers!

My Final Masterpiece

Isn't he just too cute?!?!
