Middle of Nowhere

Yep.

I'm at it again.

Recruiting in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!

Thus, I made a top 10 list.

Top 10 ways to know that you're in Boone, North Carolina

10. Two words: KFC Buffet. Who knew?

9. Cornbread is considered a delicacy.

8. Once entering the town, first thing I saw was a legit hitchhiker. Long scraggly hair and a  flannel shirt. Nothing but authenticity in Boone.

7.  The nearest airport is 2 and a half hours away.

6.  No cell phone/GPS/any kind of technological service...for miles.

5. Everyone and everything says "ya'll"...including road signs.

4. Drinks are served in glass jars.

3. Nightlife includes banjo playing musicians. (Yet again, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried)

2. The outlet mall consists of one store.

1. Topping it all? My hotel room has a heart-shaped jacuzzi.

Actual photo from MY hotel room

As I always say - I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

I love Boone, NC! Were you at least lucky enough to drive to Blowing Rock just up the road? Gorgeous scenery, fabulous boutiques, yummy restaurants! I was just there (actually I was REALLY in the middle of nowhere in East Tennessee) and the foliage was gorgeous on our day trip to Boone/Blowing Rock!

ok so you need to drive oh say not even 10 minutes to blowing rock.

outlets with coach, jcrew, polo, gap, etc.

lovely boutique's and a downtown that is "aspen of the east"

and the leaves should be lovely right now!

You must be at Appalachian State. Haha! We used to go to Boone every winter to ski and I thought maybe I'd go to school there so I could ski all the time. Unfortunately, snow didn't mix well with my tennis game ~ which is my #1 sport ~ so I passed. Anyway, it is a little back woods. But they do have some good comfort food!!

Boone!!!! Eric and I love BOONE! It is his alma mater :) He is going there today!! We should have chatted.. there are great little places in Boone.. just some hidden gems :)

i guess some people would say Manhattan KS is in the middle of nowhere :)

Thank you, Lauren. I refuse to accept someone who went to school in The Little Apple calling Boone "the middle of nowhere!"

Is this pay back for Ron Prince or something? :)

I almost went to ASU but for several of the reasons you listed, I didn't. Still a fun town come winter when it's ski season.
