Drumroll Please...SURPRISE #2!!!

Oh my goodness.

I can't take it anymore.

I've been dying to say this for so long.

I'm going to be a :

................

...........................

..........................................

.............................................................

.......................................................................

TEACHER!!!!

Do you have
any idea how good it feels to finally be able to say that?!?!?

Try keeping that cooped up inside for months and months. It's tough. Real tough.

So yes.

I can finally talk about the next journey of my life.

But first, I have to say that it is incredibly bittersweet as I think about the chapter I am getting ready to close. I put in my very-tearful, emotion-packed notice last Friday. My last day will be March 5th. I have worked for a fantastic company for three and a half years...my first job out of college actually.

Not only do I work with amazing people, that I truly do plan to keep in touch with, but I have had the chance to do a lot of wonderful things:travel all over the country, meet hundreds of college students at career fairs, wine and dine interview candidates, attend dozens of networking events, and train entry level managers. Not to mention, they did move Mr. Ruby and I twice!!

It has been such a thrilling ride.

And now, I'm ready to begin the next phase of life.

I have been pursuing my Master of Arts in Elementary Education...all online. I've been juggling exhausting days at work with intense evenings of writing papers and working on projects. And I've kept it secret for quite a while. I wanted to stay 100% committed to my role with my company, and I didn't want anyone thinking otherwise.

However, now, I have come to a point where I have to begin pre-clinicals in the classroom. I should start that sometime in March.

I have lots of plans on what I will be doing with my spare time, but that will have to wait until another post.

Thanks for being patient. It may not be as exciting to you as it is to me...but I've been dying to spill the beans.

So there they are. Lots and lots of beans.

I've been thinking about getting another degree in education of some sorts (have me Ma. of Ed. already). Did you like doing it all online?

Yayyy!! Congrats what incredible news! I hope to be accepted into a teaching residency program within the next few months and I will be so thrilled to have the opportunity to finally be a teacher - it has been my dream since I was in first grade (I do not lie). What grade level do you want to teach? What school have you been taking classes through online? Was it expensive? Give us the deets soon!

This is such exciting news! My degree is in elementary education too... but moving up to Minnesota right out of college was a little tricky. I subbed for a year and a half and interviewed, but it's soo hard to find a full-time job up here. It's what I was put on this earth to do... so I totally share your excitement! How exciting! :-D

I've been a little behind in my reading, but I just wanted to say congrats! I'm sure you'll be a great teacher. And I'm sure you must be looking forward to traveling a little less.

Also, I wanted to add that I love the new blog design!
