If your husband is away on business, and you have the tendency to freak yourself out with every movement/noise/anything else that makes you think someone trying to break in and kidnap you...
Follow these two simple rules:
1). Do not, and I repeat, do NOT watch insane amounts of CSI and Criminal Minds right before you go to bed. Bad, bad idea.
On Friday night, I was sure a serial killer had been documenting my whereabouts for many months and was ready to make his move once he knew Mr. Ruby was away. I just knew it.
2). Very important: Make SURE your husband shuts the attic door, turns off the light, and re-seals the entrance to the attic once he has completed his task up there. This did not happen in my case. And once I realized our attic door was open...I knew that just as I fell asleep, the alleged serial killer mentioned in #1, who was hiding in the attic (because said husband forgot to do all of the above) would make his attack.
Yep. I freaked myself out all.weekend.long.
And let's face it, I don't exactly have guard dogs.
I am just happy to have lived and made it through the weekend alone. Now, I am able to pass on my wise words to others.

Oh my goodness! I would have freaked myself out too!!!! I am a big baby when it comes to being at home by myself.
The other morning I woke up early and decided to get a work out in before work. Our elliptical machine is in our unfinished basement (said basement creeps me out). Needless to say, I spent my entire work out peering around the basement to see if anything looked suspicious!
You CRACK me up! I do the SAME thing! Hahahaha! I seriously have to keep my TV watching limited to like the Disney channel when I'm home alone or I will work myself up so much I'll never go to sleep! Too funny!
Haha, I can't watch scary movies for those same reasons. I freak out and wonder all night long if someone is in or trying to get in my house! Glad you survived!
