You ever watch a movie or read a book that leaves you crying uncontrollably, speechless, or pondering for days?
I am still thinking.
Still speechless.
And yes, still pondering.
I just finished "My Sister's Keeper" (the book, not the movie.) All I have to say is wow. Throughout the entire book, it kept me thinking. Seriously, before I turned each page, my mind would start to wander and just think.
Of course I cried a few times in several chapters.
But the ending left me in shock. And in a puddle of tears.
I'm still thinking about it 24 hours later...
I DEFINITELY recommend!!!!!!
I have tried to read it FOUR times and I can not get in to it. I refuse to see the movie before I finish the book, so maybe I should try once more.
ReplyDeleteshe is my favorite author!
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie and cried the ENTIRE time. Yeah, I'm sure reading the book would do that to me too
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can do it! Every person that i know who's read this has sobbed and I don't know. I need something really great and I'm afraid to know what ends up happening....
ReplyDeleteI really want to read it, but am waiting for a friend to finish it so I can borrow her copy!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that book! Have you read her book called The Pact!? Its really really good too.
ReplyDeleteI read this long ago, when it first came out and it is AMAZING. I cannot put down a Jodi Picoult book. If you haven't gotten her new book, yet, Handle With Care, you should. It's even better.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books...and yes it just leaves you completely speechless and just wondering....wow! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteI am halfway through the book and it has definitely had the same effect on me. I keep putting myself in the perspective of both sides. This is truly a heartwrenching story so far - I can't wait to find out the outcome.
ReplyDeleteI really think my jaw just dropped when I finished the book. I could not believe that happened! It was such a powerfully written book. I hear they completely changed the ending in the movie though!
ReplyDeleteLOVED that book, too! Haven't seen the movie yet, but I want to!
ReplyDeleteI read it recently, too, and I could NOT put it down! I didn't like the ending, though :(
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the movie? I want to see it at some point.
I can't wait to read that book!
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie and I am not going to even go near the book with a ten foot pole... I made the mistake of seeing the movie the weekend my Aunt was put in hospice (my 37yr old aunt) and I don't think I stopped crying the whole movie. Sobbing is more like it... but it was a great movie with a great message - and I def recommend it to people who can handle sad stuff!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, my mom read this and said it was a definite tear jerker. I don't know if I can handle it... especially in my current emotional pregnancy state. Haha!
