Memoir Monday - Kansas Style

Memoir Monday

Since we've moved back home, I've asked myself daily "Are we...lame"?

Don't answer that.

I'm not sure if it's the windchill of -12° or the fact that we are both so busy with new jobs, but it sure feels like we do a lot of hanging out in our sweatpants at home lately.

But you know something? Hanging out at HOME feels so good!!! We feel like we're catching up for time lost for the past 5 years.

So, my weekend recaps are definitely becoming less and less memoir-esque, but I still enjoy reliving the memories. Feel free to play along if you'd like!

Our weekend consisted of the following:

Two $5.00 margaritas. Patron. I love Kansas prices. Love.

Celebrating Kansas Day. Ok, this one definitely answers my first aforementioned question. Hey, the art teacher made the cake for the p.e. teacher's birthday!!!

This is us. All day every day. (Let's play a little game called "Who needs bronzer in these pics"?)

Sneaking up on my favorites. How cute is this?

Watching the two KS teams battle it out. I don't want to talk about it.

Sporting my purple.

What did YOU do this weekend?!?!

Happy Friday

I NEED Friday.

And I need it now.

When I get really busy and overwhelmed, I go into introvert mode. I don't want to be around people. I don't talk much (this is a foreign concept to me most of the time). I'm not bouncing off the walls with energy. And I tend to stare into space.

But when the weekend rolls around, I'm back to normal.

I'm so happy I get to spend some quality time with this guy:

P.S. I'm also gonna NEED that tan back. ASAP.

P.P.S. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

WIWL - bout darn time

I seriously feel like I'm sleep walking/talking/living.

This girl has not had ONE pop today. And it's making me pretty drowsy...and quite cranky.

So, to perk myself up, I thought it was about darn time to do a WILW with Jamie!!!

1). I'm LOVING Bear Naked Soft-Baked cookies. Oh my goodness, I've had one every night after dinner.

2). I'm LOVING Emily on the Bachelor. I'm not loving the bachelor himself...but I adore this Sweet Southern Belle!

3). I'm LOVING fourth grade!!! I wasn't so sure about fourth graders - I really wanted third or younger, but these kiddos are way cool!

4). I'm LOVING wine flights. Red wine. Do I really need to elaborate?

5). I'm LOVING my Snuggie. I'm not sure what I'd do without it. It's been totally freezer-burn around these parts.

What are YOU loving these days? Go ahead and play along with Jamie !!!

Memoir Monday - Remix Style

Memoir Monday

I am making time for a Memoir Monday Weekend Recap. I don't care how much stuff I have burning a hole in my "teacher bag". It can all wait.

I have had so much going on between moving, student teaching, and getting into a somewhat scheduled groove again...I just haven't had the time to relive some great memories from the last month. So, welcome to my Memoir Monday Remix Style.

Miss my fam. (The second one). I totally forgot about some of the last few days spent in Rhode Island. It's SO crazy to think how much of a topsy-turvy 180° flip life has pulled on me.

Holiday Fun with Auntie. No, not Auntie Em. I no longer have to put up with the Wizard of Oz jokes.

Babes. Look at these cutie patooties. Can't believe I'm related. Just LOOK at the way my little cousin is looking at Mr. Ruby in the third pic. Adore.

Besties since Kindy. Yep I've known this gal for 22 years. First item on the agenda? Grab Mexican food and CATCH UP!!!

I am old. My friends are starting to have babes. And the rest of us have big girl jobs. So crazy-pants.

A little piece of RI. Kansas gave Mr. P a HUGE welcome (with a giant snowstorm and lots of Ruby stuff to move into storage). We said thank you with s'mores table-side.

Settling in. We've been here for a few weeks now, and we're settling in quite nicely. Spending lots of time with family and GOOD friends!!! I'm lovin' it.

Gettin lazy. This electronic stomach band thingy actually works out your tum-tum muscles without you doing any work. It is WEIRD! The hubs definitely wasn't feeling it.

How was YOUR weekend?!?! Feel free to play along! :)

Latest Hobby

I received an exciting text message this morning:

"No School Today - Yeah!"

This is my second snow day as a student teacher. And it's not too shabby.

I've actually had the opportunity to get a little caught up. And I still have big plans: go to the gym (for the first time in 2 weeks), get a few home decor magazines, begin work on my massive Teacher Work Sample, maybe get in a snooze...or two, and catch up on BLOGGING!

So. I have this new hobby. It is quite time-consuming, super expensive, and oodles of fun. Oodles. This newfound hobby is WEDDINGS - Attending them, being in them, and helping plan them. Love.

I bring this up for 2 reasons.

1). I was recently asked to be a bridesmaid in one of my besties' weddings. We were the best of pals in college, and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. So, I can't wait to return the favor!

Tailgating before a KSU game (miss these!!!)

Visit to New England to see me!! :)

2). I still haven't shared photos from the bridal shower for my other college bestie. I'm the matron of honor in her wedding, and I helped plan a Pampered Chef Shower with the other maid of honor and bridesmaids. It was so fabulous, and it was awesome to see my college pals again!!!
