Here's Lookin at You, 2009!

What a fantastic year.

Went skiing. Attended 3 weddings. Discovered my first really good friend is pregnant. Visited multiple pals all over the country. Sold my very first car I've had since I was 16. Celebrated 3 amazing years of marriage. Went white water rafting. Got promoted.

I have a feeling 2010 is going to be full of even MORE excitement. More details to come in the upcoming months...

I'd like to take a little look back at the past year.

Testing mom is quite intrigued by blogs.

She really wants to learn.

Therefore, this is a test post.

She is just so darn impressed with all this technology stuff...including Google images and inserting photos.

Just you, Mom.

Mr. Ruby got a hysterical shot of Mom and I trying to figure out technology - Perfect candid photo!

Still Celebrating...

Yep. It feels like I'm back in college and on holiday break.

We had a wonderful Christmas, and we're still celebrating with my parents in town! We have had such a phenomenal time so far...and the good times keep on coming. :)

They got in on Christmas night, and we did our little family celebration on Saturday. Then we left for New York City for the weekend and just got back last night. It was so much fun and really just like the movies: Christmas window displays, the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, the MET, and of course Tiffany's. Pictures will be posted later this week...

We're having such a great time...and best part of all? I'm off work ALLLLL week!!!!!!!

Food Coma

Holy Cow.

While I try to re-cooperate from my intense week-long food coma, I am vegging with my PARENTS!!!!

Yes, they made it from Kansas last night at 11:30. Had ham at 1 in the morning last night and about 7 servings of breakfast casserole and monkey bread this morning. Now, I'm regretting every single thing I've put into my mouth this week as my skinnies will barely zip up. Oopsie.

Off to NYC tomorrow. Hoping it's just like the movies at Christmastime.

I'll be back Tuesday. Hope you all are having a very wonderful holiday with your family and friends!!!

Are you ready to go, "Awwww"???

Seriously, today is the best Wiener Wednesday post EVER!

Nothing will ever, ever top this.

You all know I just adore wiener dogs more than anything, so when I got this e-mail at work, I went absolutely crazy.

This mama wiener decided to adopt a little one.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Thanks to "Northeast Blizzard 2009"!

I mean, this whole winter storm really took having a White Christmas quite literally.

The poor pups were freezing all weekend! Samson even managed to get lost in the two feet of snow.

But we had a fantastic weekend. We got to meet up with some friends we've been trying to get together with for ages now! It was a night of bowling and delicious food. (Please don't mind the winter chunkies I've managed to put on this holiday season...)

And we finally got to go see WICKED! It was absolutely the best Broadway show I have ever seen. The actors were phenomenal, and I can't get the songs out of my head. I seriously have been singing "Popular" and "Defying Gravity" from the moment I woke up this morning. Highly recommended!!!!

Thank goodness it is a short week...because I'm completely checked out until next year!!! :)

I've finally got the Christmas Spirit!

It's finally here.

It took awhile, but it's here.

I'm finally in the Christmas spirit.

Three reasons that I know this:

1). I've played Mariah Carey's Christmas CD in my car so much that "All I want for Christmas is You" is completely scratched and skipping terribly....but I'm still listening. :)

2). My boss (no lie) caught me yesterday singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year" while walking to my office.

3). I have a bad, bad case of Christmas-itis. Yep. Just like senior-itis my senior years of high school and college. I am officially checked out until next year.

Bah Humbug

I know everyone says it every. single. year.

But I really mean it.

Christmas came way too quickly this year.

During a normal Christmas season, I can be caught at any given time watching Love Actually, Home Alone and a Christmas Story. I can be heard belting out "Santa Baby" and "All I want for Christmas is You." I can be caught divulging in way too much egg nog and Christmas cookies.

But this year, I'm not sure where my Christmas spirit is.

My life has been busier than ever before...and I guess I just haven't really even taken in all of Christmas in it's glory. We're not even sending out Christmas cards this year. TERRIBLE!

Oh, and you know what else dampened my Christmas mood? Going to see the new Christmas Carol movie. It was terrible. (And I even saw it in 3D). It was dark, scary, depressing, and very odd. Not your typical Christmas lifter-upper. I mean, I'm all about artistic creativity when it comes to movies...but this was just weird. I even saw a family leave with their child.

Does this look like Christmas to you?

So, in order to rummage up some much-needed Christmas jollies, (that I know are just waiting to burst out at any given moment), I'm going to think about the things that always make me excited.
